Nenana Wellness Coalition

Minutes

 August 31, 2004

The meeting this week was led by Virginia Young

Our prayer was offered by Paul Verhagen

We recited the Pledge of Allegiance

Bear asked that Henry Cole be added to our Agenda

There were no corrections or additions to last week’s minutes

Scotty Bennett - Sobriety house:

Scotty is running a sobriety house in Fairbanks that is not funded by any government organization.  It is run by Scotty and supported by him and those living in the house.  This house has been going now for four years.  Scotty himself became sober in 1991 and was very active in the Rescue Mission that used to be located at Noble and Airport Way before it became larger and moved to a new building.

 Fairbanks Family Alternative was a small non-profit group that asked Scotty to become involved with them and help them organize their foundation as they were struggling.  They had a building they began renovating with the help of volunteers that were trying to become drug free and stay sober.  This house is self-supporting by the residents paying rent, buying their own groceries and they help maintain the house.

          By being self-supporting and not depending on the government for funding they do not have paperwork to contend with or others telling them how to run their business.  So far Scotty has tried to fashion his house on the fundamentals of the Oxford House except it is not run democratically like the Oxford house is. He believes you can help others become well by giving them a place to stay and teaching them to be self- supportative.  At times, the residents make mistakes but they are given the chance to see what they did wrong and decide how to keep from making these mistakes again.  He requires that they attend church. They are not told which church to go to but must attend somewhere.

Unlike Oxford House, his program is not run as a democracy. He defined democracy as two wolves and a sheep meeting to decide what’s for dinner. He does not allow people who are sick to decide who can stay and who gets kicked out. Scotty makes the major decisions for the house. The rules include no drugs or alcohol at any time and random drug tests are given.  There is no curfew. Scotty has a house manager so he does not have to be there himself 24/7.

 Kat can help anyone get in touch with Scotty if they would like more information on this program or are interested in helping out in anyway.  He can be reached by cell phone, 460-0470 and the house is located at 1105 3rd, Fairbanks.

Bear Ketzler - The Effects of Food on Students:

          Bear shared a 20 minute video on the effects of good food on the scholastic performance of school age children.  This was filmed at Central High School in Appleton, WI.  There were rebellious children out of control at this school and experts were called in to see what could be done to help.

The first thing they did was to take out the soda and candy machines and replace them with water coolers and fresh fruit. They also introduced a healthy menu for the school lunches.  The teachers saw a dramatic change in these students in a very short time.  The school reduced its drop out rate, expulsions and fights to zero!  They increased the student’s time at working out in the gym and increased the nutrition in their diets.  The students became much more productive and were not as disruptive in class.  Now their biggest disturbances are minor things like arguing over parking spaces and occasional tardiness.  This has made a dramatic change in the school.  This type of program is being expanded to other high schools as well as elementary schools in the area.  A change of diet can make a change in a student’s performance and behavior.

Ken Eggleston:

          The Nenana School had tried to remove the soda and candy machines from the school but the students use the monies raised from these machines to fund their activities and the school board directed that the machines remain.  Gayle Steven’s mentioned that this has been tried previously in Nenana with the same negative results.  The lunch and breakfast programs have been trying to reduce the amounts of sugar in foods and juices they are serving the students.

Milt Haken:

          Milt noted that the new energy drinks such as Red Bull and Jolt also contain

Tulene(?) which in some people produces effects similar to taking speed.  These drinks really do “jolt” our bodies and he would like to see other, more healthy drinks made available to students like the health smoothies that are becoming popular in the lower 48 states and can be made with ice and fruit a blender.

Endil Moore:

Endil said he has seen ambulance calls in Nenana that were because someone had not eaten and then drank some of these ‘jolt’ like drinks resulting in someone actually becoming incoherent.

He also mentioned that although caffeine is another factor in causing the highs that people seek it also causes a subsequent low after the high where the need for stimulation comes back and the person needs more caffeine to keep going time after time.

Gary Edwin:

          Gary has seen teens in Nenana that think they have to have a double espresso in order to get them going in the mornings. Gary also has concerns that the kids have no choice what is being fed to them and what is made available to them assuming that the adults who are responsible for them are making wise choices in their behalf.

Kat:

          Kat can see where the diabetes factor also ties into this issue and it is a very high risk factor in the state of Alaska.

Paul:

          Maybe this video could be shown at the school board meeting so it could be brought up as an issue within the school to see what could be done to reduce the amount of sugar and caffeine our children are consuming on a daily basis.

Guest speaker Henry Cole - The Counterfeit Community:

          Henry can see how our meetings cover a wide range of topics.  He remembers as a teen he would eat that cereal for breakfast covered with sugar and could not figure out why he would have lots of energy for a short time and then need a nap.  He also once drank two Mountain Dews at a time after exercising and then wondered why he had heart palpitations.

          Henry had heard about our weekly meetings from Bear Ketzler and then heard about our the success of our meetings on the radio. He wanted to attend so he could see what we are doing as he is interested in communities working to improve themselves. He also took a few minutes to share with us a book he has been reading entitled The Careless Society, Community and its Counterfeits by John McKnight.  This book takes a look at the medical profession, the judicial system and the concept that if you are sick you will be a statistic or client of a doctor instead of a citizen.  If a person puts all of their faith in a doctor they are taking the role of healing from themselves and giving it to else. By being dependant upon the system people become overly complacent.  He noted that the term iatrogenic is becoming more and more applicable to the drug treatments that we receive as can be seen by the list of possible side effects that are listed at the end of television commercials for medications. It means that a drug that is used for a specific ailment can have beneficial effects for the specific ailment and yet result in many other side effects at the same time. Which is worse, the cure or the ailment?

Henry also wanted to compliment the Nenana Wellness participants on trying to look at a number of the problems we see in our city, for taking a holistic approach, instead of concentrating on just one area.  He can see we are trying to help find answers that will help with the overall picture and not just a short term gain with long term detriment.

Milt Haken:

          There will be a free cookout on Sunday Sept. 5, @ 2:00 at the ballpark with registration at 1:30 for kids ages 8 – 15.  This event is for the Pepsi Run, Punt and Kick competition.  Please come and enjoy the fun and watch the local kids compete.

Endil Moore:

          Endil wanted to thank Milt and the Police Department for the job they have done in the past and to say good-bye as of today.   James Brown will be staying for the next year to work at the school but Milt is unsure of his plans. They were given a round of applause as thanks were expressed.

Bear Ketzler:

          The Denali Foundation rejected the plan Nenana had for the Recreation Facility.  They looked at it as a Community proposal and said that they could not give the funds to a community that had been in default of a government debt.  They were speaking about the Living Center.  Since the Living Center is on its feet and not in default the Denali Foundation will now review this proposal for funding.  They will be coming to Nenana and would like to meet at the Student Living Center October 6th for discussion about this funding proposal.

Ken Eggelston:

          The Student Living Center is now requiring ID passes for all the teachers and students at the Living Center.  If you are going to be a visitor you must also obtain a visitor pass when you enter the building.

The next Wellness meeting will be on Thursday Sept. 9th at 6:00 pm with Endil Moore officiating.  Our meeting will be followed by the regularly scheduled city council meeting and participants are encouraged to stay for the city council meeting at 7:30 PM.

There were 25 in attendance at today’s meeting: Diane Carson, Margaret Sanders, Bud Krause, Mae Jensen, Henry Cole, Elder Rowe, Elder Adams, Scotty Bennett, Kat McElroy, Virginia Young, Gayle Stevens, Ned Griffith, Milt Haken, Paul Verhagen, Miles Martin, Blaine Reed, Bonnie Reed, Shelly Reed, Endil Moore, Nita Marks, Ken Eggleston, Roy Smart, Traci Wiggins, Alfred “Bear” Ketzler, Gary Edwin

Wellness meeting Tuesday August 17, 2004

Our meeting today was officiated by Traci Wiggins.

We opened with prayer led by our visitor Ted Dodge

We all recited the Pledge of Allegiance

The agenda was changed to omit Kat McElroy because she could not make it today

Last weeks minutes were approved without any corrections at this time

NNC;  Robin Campbell;

             Robin brought along a flyer showing the events and activities being planned for Friday, August 20th  at the Gladys Coghill Memorial Softball Field.  This event will take place between 12:00 and 4:30 or so. This is a community potluck with the Hamburgers and hotdogs being provided.  The first 50 school age participants will receive back to school backpacks with supplies.

Boardwalk Group;

Ted Dodge from the Boardwalk Group based near Salt Lake City Utah brought along some back to school supplies for the Nenana area school kids that could be added to the kits being handed out on Friday at the potluck.  He also brought along kits that are for a newborn baby with a blanket, a sleeping gown, towel, a wash cloth, soap and diapers.  This is an excellent idea for families with new babies.

RBMH ~ Traci Wiggins;

Traci had a presentation for us today on the Facts About Smoking.  It showed us how you are hurting yourself and hurting others.  Smoking is an addiction.  Tobacco smoke contains nicotine, a drug that is addictive and can make it very hard, but not impossible, to quit.  More than 400,000 deaths in the U.S. each year are from smoking-related illnesses.  Smoking greatly increases your risks for lung cancer and many other cancers.

Traci has some cigarette disposal bins at her office, one to be placed outside the Senior Center and one for the Native Council Bldg.  These bins are great because the butts can not be taken back out and when placed inside they stop burning.

NCC ~ Russ Sharrock;

          Russ noted that when he had cancer of his vocal cords it was related to the smoking he had done years before even though he had previously stopped - just not soon enough.

Miles Martin;

          Miles told us a story about a friend of his that lost a truck over smoking.  As the story goes Miles friend needed a cigarette and had no lighter.  They stopped along the side of the road and shorted out the battery to get a spark to light this cigarette and consequently caught the truck on fire and it burnt completely.  Miles also noted that cigarettes are a drug and many people are dependant upon them.  What help are smokers given after they have stopped smoking and what effect does this have on the cost of other peoples insurance?

Traci Wiggins;

          Are there any support groups for smokers like there are for alcoholics?  The AA groups are useful for other addictions besides alcohol.  This support group can be used for drugs or tobacco and the support would still be helpful for their recovery.

John Kemper;

          A friend of his burnt down two hunting camps while smoking in bed.  The last time they only escaped with the clothes on their backs thirty miles from anywhere.

Margaret Sanders;

          Margaret shared a story about a young couple that were having their first child and the husband promised to stop drinking when the baby came.  He did stop drinking and later realized when he went for a cigarette that he was still craving something.  That was the beer.  He decided he needed to go have a beer.  When he got to the bar and ordered the beer he just looked at it.  He could not drink the beer  because he had promised his wife he would not drink anymore.  Right then and there he decided he needed to stop smoking as well as the drinking so the combination of the two habits would cease altogether.  He has not had a drink or smoked since that time and they now have five children.

Virginia Young;

          There are programs with funding for groups wanting to supply positive activities for kids like art classes, biking, dances or snowboarding that are giving teens alternatives that will address the issue of wellness among young teens.  These groups feel the alternate activities show the teens there are other things they can do besides drink and smoke to give them a chance to fit in with others their age.

Old Business:

          1.  Marge Riley Retirement;

 When will this be and where will it be and what will it be?  Miles, Traci and Virginia will get together with Janis from Anderson and decide when and where and what it will be and report back at a later date.

2.  Second Annual Wellness in Nenana Dinner;

            When will this be?  Where will it be?  What day of the week will this be held on?   Should it be sometime in September or October?   Please come to a wellness meeting to voice your opinion.

          3.  Chamber of Commerce Welcome Dinner;

              When will this be?  What would you like to see on the agenda for this dinner?  Please contact Diane Jensen 832-5239.

Virginia;

Virginia would like to see the wellness meeting and the chamber meeting be combined into one dinner for the whole community.

Russ Sharrock;

          Why do both dinners have to be the same time or same month?  Could the wellness dinner be held a different time of year?  The chamber meeting is held in October to introduce the new teachers and families into the community.  If you have an opinion to share on this topic please try to come to a wellness meeting.

The Nenana Valley Fair, Inc.;

          Gene Jensen brought over flyers with details on the Nenana Fair for the weekend of Aug. 21 & 22.  If you have any questions regarding entries for the Fair or spaces available please contact Diane Jensen @ 832-5239.

RBMH;

          There will be a board meeting held on Aug. 26 @ 6:00pm in Anderson at the Chamber office in the Post Office Building.

Nenana Farmers Market;

          There are fruits and vegetables available at 11am each Saturday.  First come first served.

          Diane Carson will not be available at the next meeting to take minutes.  It will be primary election day.  Go and vote

Meeting was adjourned at 1:30.

The next meeting will be on Tuesday August, 24.

Nenana Wellness Coalition Meeting

Minutes

Thursday, August 12, 2004

Our meeting began at 6:30 and was officiated by Paul Verhagen

Paul led us in prayer and then we all recited the Pledge of Allegiance

There were no corrections or additions to last week’s minutes at this time but can still be made via email

The agenda was approved

Wellness Presentation

Howard S. Rixie Sr. - Youth development

Howard Rixie, the immediate past director of district 49B of the Lions Club came to introduce a new program developed specifically for Nenana called the Junk Yard Challenge. Natalie Dean found a grant that would help our community’s youth to simultaneously develop engine repair skills and human relation skills but it required working through a local Lions Club. With the help of 20 of our local women a new Lion’s Club was started and plans were laid for how to accomplish the goals. Howard worked with a friend of his and together they came up with a program based on the popular TV show Junk Yard Wars. Drawing on the popularity of that show it is expected that our kids will respond enthusiastically. The goal is to involve more kids and have a greater and a farther-reaching impact in Nenana than ever before.

The plan is for several groups (consisting of four young people and one adult/mentor) to find ‘dead’ snow machines and ‘revive’ them in a series of training and work sessions over sixteen-week blocks of time. The training will include time spent not only on how to repair engines but also a component on being good citizens. At the end of each 16 week time-block, the groups use their revived equipment to compete against each other in a challenge race.

The same thing is done three times a year - once in the winter to rebuild snow-machines, once in the summer to rebuild outboard motors, and once in the fall to rebuild 4-wheelers.

The Lions are in the process of recruiting

  • Young people to participate,
  • Adults to help mentor these teens,
  • Business sponsors to help with funding, and
  • Community members to provide general support.

Howard would be glad to come back and present again if we want him to or answer any questions about this program. He can be contacted at: HDCRIXIE@PTIALASKA.NET

Paul Verhagen pointed out how nicely this program will fit with our community’s ongoing efforts to establish Nenana as a racing center in Alaska.

Report - Crucial Conversations Mastery Course

Bonnie Reed - I’m grateful to have been able to attend this program and wish everyone from the age of five upward could learn the techniques taught in the class. It would save so many heartaches and is applicable to such a wide variety of people from family members to corporate employees.

Bud Krause - I missed the last day but will pick up where I left off when the course is offered in Healy later this fall. I was very impressed with the Kevin Miller (the presenter) and his skills at presenting.

Margaret Sanders - I wish more young people in the community could have attended so they could learn how to communicate with others without getting so angry or loosing their temper. Three of us who work together at the senior’s center attended together and since then we’ve caught ourselves several times resorting to our old ways and turned ourselves around. We’ve really benefited from the things we learned. I just wish I had learned these things 20 years ago. I haven’t got mad at anyone since the class and I don’t feel the need to be on-guard as much as I did before. I can even see how this course will result in fewer people talking behind each other’s backs.

Diane Carson - My husband Glyn and I both took the course and enjoy using some of the textbook pointers on each other after taking this seminar. We think it would be nice if additional video segments could be produced that would make it equally applicable to people in rural settings as it is for those who work in the corporate work place.

Russ Sharrock - I enjoyed this course very much.  It makes you think before you talk. It’s almost like looking into a mirror now when I talk because I can see how I might appear to others. I think it would benefit many others in our community if they were able to take this course.

            Kevin Miller was the instructor for this course and did an excellent job with the diverse group that was in the room for three days.  His presentation was very well laid out and easy to follow for everyone attending.  We all look forward to his returning to Nenana so we can ask him more questions as we fine-tune our communication skills.

            Paul mentioned that, as we speak, Kevin is presenting the course to a school district in South Dakota. He adapted it for that particular audience and it can be adapted to just about any audience such as law enforcement, Native American communities, Churches, etc.

Paul said that the developers of this program are interested in hearing about how the program was received in our community because it was the first Crucial Conversations Mastery Course taught in Alaska and if it was well received, and we are interested, they might be interested in sending a videographer up here to film another session and have it aired on PBS about it’s affects on rural Alaska.

Imagine, Nenana on PBS! They have asked those who attended to please write a review of the course and give it to Paul to pass on to them.

New business;

            Marge Riley is planning on retiring from the Post Office soon. Would we like to have a special event for her at our upcoming annual community wellness meeting? Jan Hatt from Anderson would like to be involved in the organization of anything we come up with.

            Paul read a letter he wrote to the Railroad informing them that we would like increased flag stops in Nenana beginning next summer. He also wanted them to be thinking about our anticipation of greatly increased numbers of people making Nenana a destination so that when they re-route the railroad around Nenana maybe a depot building could be located near the airport. This would be great because there is interest in the Living Center being used next summer for groups coming in for a family retreat setting.

Nenana Valley Sports Association - Race Track

Paul shared a proposed design for a motorcycle track for our raceway park that he recently received from an architect in Anchorage that might be feasible for us to build in two phases.

Ned Griffith shared the name and number of Ray Boyd - 907-488-1594 as someone who might be able to help us with BMX racing.

Updates or Announcements

Nenana City Schools - Natalie Dean

            In-service is scheduled for this week and will include Crucial Conversations training for all teachers and staff. The Living Center students will be arriving next week.  The sauna has been halted at the moment because something needs to be fixed.

Seniors Center - Margaret Sanders

            The First-Sergeant from the base was here and offered their services to our community. They are wanting to help fix some things up at the senior center.  They  are also willing to volunteer to help with the building of the race track if they can get the equipment from the base to do it.

RBMH - Kat McElroy

            The Lions Club idea is a great way to help incorporate things for the area teens and community members to do together.

Meeting adjourned at 7:24 PM

Next meeting set for Tuesday August 12th at noon at the Senior’s Center.

In attendance: Ned Griffith, Endil Moore, Russ Sharrock, Margaret Sanders, Barb Carson, Paul Verhagen, Suzanne Hill, Natalie Dean, Howard Rixie, Kat McElroy, Traci Wiggins, Blaine Reed, Bonnie Reed, Bud Krause, Diane Carson, Don Carter.

Nenana Wellness Coalition Minutes

August 3, 2004

The meeting was opened with prayer by Bonnie Reed

followed by the Pledge of Allegiance

There were 17 people attending.

Russ Sharrock officiated our meeting today.

We went over the agenda and made a couple of additions for speakers.

Environmental Agency:    Gary Edwin

Gary is going to have a meeting tonight at the Senior Center at 7pm and shared with us a few pictures he had taken recently.  These were pictures of trash, cars and used batteries that were on the edge of, or in the Nenana River within four miles of our city.  Gary will be sharing with us how the toxins move from the ground into our drinking water.

Cosmetics also include toxins but are not monitored by USDA as pollutants.  Eye make-up, lip balms, tooth whitening, toothpaste, conditioners, hair dye, shampoo, bar soaps and acne treatment medications all seem to contain harmful impurities, allergy causing ingredients along with cancer causing ingredients.

Court System:    Paul Verhagen

            Thermometers vs. Thermostats. The thermometer tells you what the temperature is and that is all.  The thermostat on the other hand will tell you if it is hot or cold and then do something about it.  People are like a thermometer at times.  They will tell you it is cold, it is cold or it is hot, it is hot but never do anything about it.  We need to be more like the thermostat and actually do something about the situation and not just complain about it and do nothing.

            Whale Done! is a book Paul has read recently and related how it ties in with our wellness coalition.  A businessman wanted to find out how a trainer motivated 10,000 pound killer whales to do the things he wants them to do.  At first he suspected that it had to do with hurting them or punishing them out of view of the public but eventually discovered that it was just the opposite - the trainers work hard at ‘catching’ the whales doing good and praising and rewarding them for that without focusing on the unwanted behavior. The businessman realized that he could use the trainer’s technique in his relationships at home and at work in order to motivate others and help improve their performance. It is a principle of wellness that we might all want to consider in our relationship with others.

Railbelt Mental Health:     Kat McElroy

             Kat had a handout about Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders.  Kat has just rewritten their grant for this year.  Part of this grant program is to motivate RBMH to get more information into the community.  RBMH is hosting a beading circle meeting each week to make a relaxing setting to discuss FASD with those interested in learning more about this disorder.  The more people are aware of this problem the more conscious they may be while pregnant.

            RBMH has been leaving flyers at the local library for people in the community to take home and read so they can learn how to prevent this problem. One out of five babies born with FASD will have facial deformities.  Not all babies with FASD will have facial deformities but will still have another form of FASD.

            Addiction is by nature destructive and negative.  Be it money, sex, gambling, drugs or food.  If people are caught up in an addiction they become negative and can spread destruction to others around them.  So, the recovery process needs to be positive and creative.  The Nenana Wellness Coalition is trying to be positive and creative in helping this community.  Each person needs to be well in their own life. To begin this process then they can begin to help others around the community as well.

            Kat wanted us to know she will be found spending more time in the area bars, having dinner, playing cribbage and spreading good cheer and information about addictions.

            Kat will be glad to have an evening seminar to discuss the Medicine Wheel.  Margaret will try to find a date for this in the near future.

Paul Verhagen:

            Wanted to thank Kat for her presentation and courage to speak out about the addiction problems she sees each week.  Paul wanted to encourage all of us to share our thoughts for the community if we would like to speak at any one of the meetings.

Miles Marten:

Miles said the Nenana Chamber was willing to contribute some matching funds to help people attend the Crucial Conversations Seminar.

Paul said he had been in contact with different entities around the community that are willing to contribute money to help defray the cost of this seminar for those that may need help attending.  The total cost is not finalized at this time and a total number of those wanting to attend is also being tabulated.   Paul has sent out flyers to surrounding communities and around town for a meeting tonight at the Senior Center about anyone interested in a tourist related business.

            Paul also passed out additional copies of the book entitled “The Family Enrichment Program” for anyone interested.  This is a guide for strengthening families through weekly family night.

Bear Ketzler

            Applications for Seniors, Disabled and those with special needs for housing  can be received from Bear.  They are due back by Sept. 24, 2004 if you are interested or qualify.

            In talking to Senator Stevens, Bear has learned that Mr. Blackburn has a facility that is a boot camp for young adults to get them ready for the armed services.  He may come to a wellness meeting to explain how this program works.

            There is a statewide wellness program that Senator Stevens had introduced funding for in years past.  At this time he is not proposing to continue this funding because his intent was that it be used for law enforcement and this is not being done.  The Alaska Native Health Board is holding a conference in Anchorage about wellness in Alaska.

            The Air Force has presented the Tribe with two different routes to use the air space under 8,000 ft. over the lands surrounding Nenana.  They have given permission for this to take place, but will not be able to use this air space during the months of April and September.

The Tribe has hired Charlie Stevens to head up the Tribal Housing Program in Nenana and the Tribe has approached the Corp of Engineers to stabilize the riverbank in Nenana.

The Tribal Work Force has been working out well so far this summer with the accounting dept. passing out the checks unless the work force employees had been drinking.  This decision had been overturned by the local tribal council, but, the Work Force reiterated that they don’t want to be paid if they have been drinking.  The final word at the moment is no check handed out if the employee has been drinking. That is a good sign of improving wellness.

Kat:

            Kat noted that many others around the state are interested in wellness for their communities and wanting to know how Nenana has gotten our wellness group off to such a great start.  She would like to attend an upcoming state-wide wellness meeting with information about our efforts and even with representatives from our group.

Paul:

            Paul discussed how the citizens of Nenana might be able to help the City Assembly make wise decisions on the running of our community by attending meetings and talking to them and sharing information with them. Informed participants make wiser decisions.

Roy Smart:

            Roy is interested in forming a committee of people interested in formulating guidelines for the city council regarding the police department.

Nenana Valley Sports Association

            They have talked to the Corp of Engineers that are heading up the cold weather testing site in Delta.  They will have a meeting soon to discuss a similar site in Nenana.

Seniors:   Margaret Sanders

            Margaret talked to the commander at Clear AFS the other day and he offered his services if they could help our community in anyway.  Margaret gave him a list of at least ten different things she could think of right away.  Already a bus driver called to say he would volunteer to take any of the veterans to the Stand-down at Pioneer Park later this month.

Meeting Adjourned at 2:00

The next meeting will be on Thursday August 12, 2004 at 6:00pm at the Senior Center.

Attendees: Bud Krause, Russ Sharrock, Bonnie Reed, Blaine Reed, Kat McElroy, Cassandra Thomas, Margaret Sanders, Diane Carson, Nita Marks, Danie Marks, Miles Martin, Alfred “Bear” Ketzler Jr., Roy Smart, Mae Jensen, Gary Edwin, Carrie Edwin, Paul Verhagen
